Highlights
Nice weather (except it was a bit windy) and a nice launch area. Completed my Tripoli Level 2 written test. Then I launched the EZI-65 on a J180 (instead of a J90) because it was windy. The motor lit instantly with the Firestar ignitor. Excellent flight and recovery, and I received my Tripoli Level 2 certification. I had the IA-X96 altimeter in the payload section for recording only, reported 6520 ft., much higher than predicted. Next was the Sudden Rush on its maiden flight. It took a while to prep, finally launched it on an I211. Drogue deployed OK, but the main chute came out also due to the deployment shock from the drogue. No harm, but it made for a long walk. I did hear the main charge deploy. This was my first flight using an altimeter to fire the ejection charge. Then I launched the HV Arcas on a H180, perfect flight. Thanks to Gary Dywer (prefect Tripoli Wyoming) for his assistance and making this possible.
